The Project

The World Peace Foundation conducts academic research centered around six core pillars that strive to create pathways for non-violent futures. Because their work addresses highly complex topics, the visual tone needed to be serious yet optimistic—avoiding flashy, sensationalist motion.

Starting from the foundation's original static visual identity created by Room For Magic, my goal was to design cohesive, seamless transitions between still graphic design and motion, translating their static brand elements into a living title sequence.

Process & Concept

Initial Concept

Room For Magic's original graphic design abstractly represents the inequity of food resources through a balance of complete and broken circle strokes. The animation honors this motif by emphasizing the tension between complete and incomplete nutrition.

Movement Intentions

I wanted to convey the fact that all the "people" (circles) were distinct living beings. So, to prevent the shapes from moving as a rigid block, I placed each circle at a unique depth along the Z-axis.

As they resolve into the final keyframe, the varied spatial positions allow them to move at differing speeds before aligning into their original positions from the still design.

Light Version

I also created a light version of the animation!
